The following excerpts were published in the Argyle Centennial Book, which was put together in 1983 to celebrate the first one hundred years of Argyle's place in Minnesota history. The book includes many sections featuring Argyle's Beginnings, City developments of various services, Agriculture and Industry, Businesses, Prominent Old Timers, Professional Persons, School and Churches, Townships, Family Histories, and Echos from the Past.
I have included only the most general articles and biographies of our family members. The history of the town provides a rich and varied picture of the location and circumstances encountered by my forebearers.
