Joseph Saumur and Agnes Myerchin were married on July 19, 1938 at St Michael Catholic Church, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They started married life in Walhalla, North Dakota, where they operated a service station and farm implement business.

In 1939 they returned to Grand Forks and in 1940 they moved to California. Joseph worked in Aircraft/Aerospace until retirement in 1979. Agnes maintained the home. Seven children were born to them. As of this date, March 27, 1985, all of the children are married, none divorced. There are fifteen grandchildren (six adopted) and one great grandchild. All of the children are living in California, except Richard, who resides in Oklahoma City.

Prior to her marriage Agnes was co-owner of a beauty shop in Grand Forks for two years. When the children started school she was active in St. Bernard's Mothers Club. She was also an advisor in Chi Rho Youth Club in St Prancratius Parish. Agnes is now active in St Bernard's Parish Council, and is a officer in Court St Bernardine, Catholic Daughters of America.

Joseph continued his education at Cerritos College and UCLA and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer. He is a Eucharistic Minister in St Bernard's Church and is an officer in the Knights of Columbus.

Joseph makes his home at 5959 N Pepperwood Ave. Lakewood, CA.
