Marie was born at Warren, Minnesota in 1891. She married Leo Reisz in Great Falls, Montana on October 3, 1917. Leo was bornin Great Falls. They moved to Iowa and opened a 5&10 cent in Grundy Center, Iowa. Leo later became store manager for the State Liquor and was bookkeeper for Hemp Mill and Farmers Elevator.

Marie was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the American Legion Auxilary. They had five children, Leota died at the age of four and Hilary was stillborn. Valeria and Carmelita were chosen by adoption. Valeria is now married to Standly Caldwell and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. Carmelita married Richard Moody and they reside in St Paul, Minnesota. Yvonne is married to Joseph Oettinger and they make their home in Goleta, California.

Marie died at her home in Grundy Center. She donated her body to the University of Iowa School of Medicine. Leo died at the Veteran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
